4 Days in Cabo : A Perfect Escape

Cabo San Lucas, often referred to simply as "Cabo," is a paradise at the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula that effortlessly blends luxury, natural beauty, and vibrant culture. If you're planning an escape to this enchanting destination, I've curated the perfect four day itinerary.

Having personally traveled to Cabo within this timeframe, I can tell you that a four-day trip, even though it might sound like just a tad more than a long weekend, can be enough if you plan accordingly and spend your time wisely.

Here we go …

Day 1

Beachfront Bliss and Sunset Dining

Morning:

Arrival and Resort Check-In

Let’s begin with a morning arrival at Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). I recommend planning in advance and either rent a car or arrange private transportation provided by your hotel upon arrival. If possible avoid taxis. Most hotels are located within a 25 to 30 minute driving distance from the airport. Enjoy the ride and get acquainted with the beautiful surroundings , with contrasting sea and desert landscapes.

The vacation truly begins as you check in at your resort. The One&Only Palmilla or Las Ventanas al Paraiso , a Rosewood Resort are excellent choices. Take some time to relax and enjoy a quick bite with the stunning backdrop of Sea of Cortez views that greets you with a warm embrace. You can read my full review of the top hotels in Cabo from this list.

Afternoon:

Beach Time and Water Adventures

After settling in, head to the golden sands of Medano Beach. Enjoy a refreshing dip in the azure waters or indulge in thrilling water activities like jet skiing. Of course, you can always decide to simply take in the view and relax at the beach, perhaps while reading from your copy of "The Art of Doing Nothing." However, Cabo is famous for its water adventures, and if you choose to do something more active, you won't be disappointed.

Evening:

Sunset Dining at El Farallon

For an unforgettable dining experience, make a reservation at El Farallon, a cliffside restaurant at the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal. Savor the catch of the day while listening to the crashing waves beneath you. Make reservations early so you can watch the incredible sunset views that can set the perfect tone for a romantic evening.

Day 2

Exploring Natural Wonders

Morning:

Cabo's Iconic Arch

Start your day with a boat tour to Land's End, where you'll witness the iconic Arch of Cabo San Lucas, a breathtaking natural wonder. Snap photos, and if you're lucky, spot sea lions basking on the nearby rocks.

Afternoon:

Lover's Beach and Divorce Beach

Your boat tour will take you to Lover's Beach, a secluded paradise for relaxation and snorkeling. Just around the corner is Divorce Beach, known for its powerful waves and dramatic beauty. It's an intriguing contrast that showcases the diverse landscape of Cabo.

Evening:

Gourmet Dining

For dinner, treat your palate to the culinary delights at Comal , a renowned restaurant that combines traditional Mexican flavors with a contemporary twist. Enjoy your meal in the charming atmosphere at the Chileno Bay Resort & Residences , Auberge Resorts Collection. Here is a list with full reviews of the the restaurants that in my personal opinion are the best in and around Cabo for 2023.

Day 3

Deep-Sea Fishing Adventure

Morning:

World-Class Sportfishing

Cabo is renowned for its world-class sportfishing opportunities. Charter a luxury fishing boat with Viator that has several options in their website , and set out into the Pacific Ocean or the Sea of Cortez with experienced guides who know the best fishing spots. I had the opportunity to charter a medium-sized vessel and caught a tuna that gave me and my friends a hell of a fight. It was quite a struggle to reel it in but it was well worth it. The personnel on the boat kindly offered to prepare it, and we had fresh sashimi on our way back. The personnel even had soy sauce and wasabi on board ! Make sure you are well-hydrated throughout the day.

Afternoon:

Beachside Lunch and Relaxation

After an exciting morning of fishing, you can return to your resort and head straight to a restaurant and ask your waiter or chef to prepare a big steak feast to switch gears from seafood. Enjoy your leisurely lunch savoring the flavors of Mexico while you recall the fishing adventure you just had.

Late Afternoon:

Golf at one of Cabo’s Premier Courses

For golf enthusiasts, spend your late afternoon at one of Cabo’s premier golf courses, such as the Cabo del Sol Ocean Course or Quivira Golf Club. Tee off against breathtaking ocean views and lush green fairways. These courses are designed by golf legends and offer an unforgettable golfing experience. Given the fact that you went fishing in the morning 9 holes should be enough.

Evening:

Sunset Drinks

As the sun dips below the horizon, head to a beachfront bar like The Office on the Beach in Medano to unwind with cocktails, live music, and the sound of waves lapping the shore.

Day 4

Wellness and Farewell

Morning:

Spa and Wellness

Indulge in a wellness morning with a visit to your resort's spa. Enjoy rejuvenating treatments, yoga by the beach, or a relaxing massage—whatever you need to unwind completely.

Afternoon:

Luxury Shopping

Take a leisurely stroll along the upscale shops at Puerto Paraíso Mall or Luxury Avenue. While Cabo might not be a major shopping destination, you can use the time to walk around and get a glimpse of the place. The area in or around the marina is a perfect place to do some shopping and people watching.

Evening:

Farewell Dinner at Estiatorio Milos

End your "4 Perfect Days in Cabo" with a farewell dinner at Estiatorio Milos, conveniently located within the Four Season Resort Los Cabos at Costa Palmas. Savor Mediterranean cuisine and toast to your unforgettable Cabo adventure as the sun sets over the horizon. Part of visiting and trying restaurants in other hotels rather than your own can help you choose for your next vacation.
